Race Report - BMB Round 1 (2025)

What an amazing weekend we had for Rd 1 of British Mini Bikes Championship at Rowrah on the Mini GP 190. This was a last minute change of plan to compete in the FIM MiniGP championship due to a fantastic opportunity given to me by Ohvale UK for winning the championship last year.

We came in to this round not expecting too much as I was still really sore after my off last weekend during practice on my supermoto. So, we had a few hurdles to get over but thanks to Harry at Ohvale UK we got the bike dialled in over the weekend and I wasn’t a million miles away by the end of the day.

On Friday we had a practice day which was a perfect opportunity to get things moving, unfortunately in the 2nd session, I made a small mistake and unloaded the front causing me to have a small slide off. This knocked my confidence a bit but we worked around it and improved every session there after.

Throughout Saturday and Sunday, we continued to make small adjustments and I continued to improve which was perfect.

We made the decision on Saturday to remain on the same set of tyres throughout the weekend to see how much much we could get out of them and even with this and making adjustments to the bike, I went faster each session on them so that’s a massive positive.

Rowrah was mega cold which affect my shoulder a bit so it was hard to push too much but we have a great starting point for Rd 2 and hopefully with some more bike time leading up, I can push on more and get closer to P1.

Results were:

I took P2 in Qualifying with a lap time of 49.84 and P2 in all 3 races 🥈🥈🥈

Of course I want to win but this season isn’t just about winning on the track it’s about everything else too and this weekend has boosted my confidence massively, I now have the hunger to build myself up and focus on everything as a whole.

As always, well done to Wilson for the P1s. You rode awesome all weekend 👏🏻

So, a mega weekend all in. Lots of data gathered, a lot more comfortable on the bike, worked great with Harry and I really enjoyed understanding more. Now time to rest up, get this shoulder sorted and we go again
